Jenny Martin (Cherokee Nation Citizen) who runs The Lummi Healing Spirits Garden would like to take us on a Fireweed journey. We will go over how to process and ferment the leaves for a delicious tea and discuss the historical, cultural and symbolic importance of this incredible plant.

Come and learn about the many medicinal and edible applications of Fireweed (Chamerion angustifolium).Â
We will learn how to process and ferment the leaves for a delicious tea and discuss the historical, cultural and symbolic importance of this plant and how to take care of it.
Jenny Martin is of Irish/Italian descent and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. She graduated with her BS in Native Environmental Science from Northwest Indian College and her MA in Culture and Colonialism from the National University of Ireland Galway. Jenny Currently lives in Bellingham and works as the Diabetes Care Coordinator and Healing Spirits Gardener at the Lummi Tribal Health Center. Â Traditional foods and herbal medicine education In Tribal Communities is her biggest passion.
